Claims

Dealing with claims can be both confusing and time consuming. The Marsh Musical Equipment Solutions Team can assist you to make the process as painless as possible.

How to make a claim:

Useful information when making a claim:

You must:

take all reasonable precautions to prevent any further loss or damage;
inform the Police immediately if your equipment is lost, stolen or if malicious damage is suspected;
promptly inform the Marsh Musical Equipment Solutions Team of the claim by telephone, in writing or in person (and let us know if there is any other insurance that may also provide cover); and
immediately send copies of court documents or any correspondence you receive about a claim.

So that your claim can be assessed quickly, you should also provide proof of ownership and value for each item being claimed, for example, providing invoices, receipts, valuations or photographs. Other reasonable information and documents or access to damaged equipment may also be required to be provided.

You will be required to pay the excess amount stated in your Policy Schedule. At the insurers discretion, this amount may be deducted from your loss, or you may be asked to pay it to the insurer or a repairer or supplier.

Theft Claims

Require a police report number and the address of the station noted on your claim form. A replacement quotation for each individual item stolen is also required.

Accidental Damage Claims

Require a detailed repair quotation from an authorised repairer showing all parts and components to be repaired or replaced. If the repairer advised that the item is damaged beyond economic repair, obtain that opinion in writing together with the repair quotation and retailer's quotation for similar instrument and /or equipment where possible.
